Beyond The Writing On The Wall: Bringing Mission And Vision To Life

Weโve all walked into a lobby or clicked onto a website, seen the requisite mission and vision statement โ only to wonder if anyone who works there could actually explain what they mean.
Too often, these statements are written to check a box and look impressive. They end up sounding generic โ โ๐๐ฆย ๐ข๐ช๐ฎย ๐ต๐ฐย ๐ฃ๐ฆย ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆย ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ณย ๐ช๐ฏย ๐๐ ๐กโ or โ๐๐ฆย ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ท๐ช๐ฅ๐ฆย ๐ด๐ฆ๐ณ๐ท๐ช๐ค๐ฆ๐ดย ๐ต๐ฐย ๐ช๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ท๐ฆย ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ณย ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ดโ ๐ข๐ฃ๐ช๐ญ๐ช๐ต๐บย ๐ต๐ฐย ๐ฅ๐ฐย ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ช๐ณย ๐ซ๐ฐ๐ฃ๐ด.โ Nice words, but not exactly inspiring.

A ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ปย plants a flag on the horizon. It makes sure your team isnโt just rowing hard, but rowing together โ toward the same destination.
When mission and vision are clear and consistent, leaders have a powerful tool. They provide direction, they align people and resources, and they give everyone a reason to say, โ๐๐ฉ๐ช๐ดย ๐ช๐ดย ๐ธ๐ฉ๐บย ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ณย ๐ธ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฌย ๐ฎ๐ข๐ต๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด.โ

Mission and vision donโt belong in a frame on the wall. They belong at the heart of your leadership, guiding every decision and inspiring every action.
